Welcome Adults!

At Zion our goal is to create environments and experiences where you can encounter God in the midst of your life. We hope you have felt welcomed by our amazing community of people and are ready to deepen your connection with others while growing your faith in Christ.

For adults, we offer several opportunities throughout the week to join in fellowship and study, so that you may be reminded that God’s grace is here!

The Art of Neighboring

In this time of social distancing, it is more important than ever to remain connected to each other by means that remain safe and possible. We have been considering ways to encourage fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ within Zion and beyond our congregation. One such possibility would be to break out into virtual small groups and study a congregation-wide common curriculum.

The Art of Neighboring is a book by Jay Pathak and Dave Runyon that asks one simple question: When Jesus told us to love our neighbors, what if He meant our actual neighbors, the people who live closest to us? Christians have understood “love thy neighbor” to mean any act of kindness or generosity towards strangers, while at the same time neglecting to build meaningful relationships with those within a close physical proximity, such as your actual neighbors.

We would like to develop a series of small groups that would meet virtually six to eight times to explore this unique opportunity for evangelism. There are a series of videos and shorts readings that each group can review. Don’t worry, you won’t need to read the book.

Many Christians struggle with prayer even though it’s an essential part of the Christian life. “What should I pray for?” they may wonder. “How should I pray?” “What if my mind wanders?” “What if I get stuck praying the same thing everyday?” We are studying A Simple Way to Pray
