Women’s Guild

The mission of the “Women of Zion” is to assist each woman of Zion in affirming her relationship to the Triune God and to one another, so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people in her church, community, and world.

The current President of the Women’s Guild is Janice Porter.

Women’s Guild is instrumental in reaching out to those in our community and fulfilling a need.

This group meets regularly – September through May – at 10 AM on Thursday mornings for fellowship and refreshments. Some meetings include special projects, such as: College Pack and Craft Day.

They also participate in sing-a-longs at Residences at Salem Woods, funeral lunches, altar care and flowers, annual cookie pack – cookies going to nursing homes, provide meals, and more. They also take offerings and use funds for projects at Zion and Mites for mission projects all over Ohio and throughout the World

Members of Zion’s Women’s Guild are part of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) and the Women’s Auxiliary to the Federation of Lutheran Churches of Cincinnati.  These groups connect us to Lutheran women and ministry of the Greater Cincinnati area and beyond.

  • LWML provides a Fall Retreat and Bible Studies and supports the Missionary Grants of the Nation LWML through Mites.
  • The Women’s Auxiliary of Cincinnati supports our Chaplain (at UC Hospital and St. Joseph House in Over the Rhine) and Ministry to Nursing Homes
