About Us

“…since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

 - 1 John 4:11

Our History

In 1949, a Lutheran couple in the Mt. Washington area made a request to the Central District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod to determine the feasibility of a mission. By December 12, 1951 a congregation of 22 communicant members had officially organized. Four years later, on December 4, 1955 the church building at our present site was dedicated. As the congregation grew, a need for a Contemporary Service was determined and added. The Multi Ministry Center (MMC) was added for use during the Contemporary Service and as an outlet for outreach. The MMC was dedicated in June 2004. Today, Zion offers 2 services and Christian Education each Sunday morning, as well as a once monthly Saturday evening service.  For a more detailed description of our history click here.  To view our timeline click here.
